The Central Bank of Somalia successfully concluded its 4th Annual Economic Policy Conference in Mogadishu on 29 July 2026. The two-day conference, held from 28 to 29 July 2026, focused on safeguarding financial stability, strengthening resilient institutions and financial infrastructure, managing systemic risks, and assessing the economic impact of declining development assistance.
The conference brought together representatives from more than 40 institutions, including government entities, development partners, universities, research organisations, and the private sector. The programme featured expert presentations, research reports, policy publications, and panel discussions addressing Somalia’s economic outlook and financial-sector priorities. It also included the launch of the 2026 Financial Access Survey Report, which will serve as a key foundation for Somalia’s first National Financial Inclusion Strategy.
